Deborah Orgel Hudson

I’m the Marketing and Sales Director for the University of Pittsburgh Press, home of the renowned Pitt Poetry Series and a rich editorial program in Latin American studies, Russian and East European studies, Central Asian studies, composition and literacy studies, environmental studies, urban studies, the history of architecture and the built environment, Asian and African Studies, and the history and philosophy of science, technology, and medicine. I joined the press after roles in marketing, publicity, and engagement at commercial and association publishers. I’m passionate about connecting books to readers, a student of publishing, and enjoy working with authors to promote the discovery of their books. Outside of work, I can be found at a drawing table making cartoons or reading, hiking, or traveling.

Books of fiction that I’ve recently read that I’d like to put on everyone’s #TBR pile: The Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead and Weyward by Emilia Hart.

Book I’m a lifelong evangelist for: The Dog Stars by Peter Heller
