Book Submissions

Poetry submissions must follow a different set of guidelines, found here.

Please email your inquiry to the attention of the appropriate editor, found below. Or send us a book proposal that describes

• the subject matter and contribution of your book;
• the approach or methodology you have chosen;
• the intended audience (scholars, students, the general public); and
• your qualifications to undertake the project.

Also include your curriculum vitae, an outline or annotated table of contents, and a sample chapter, if available. If the manuscript is not yet finished, include a projected timetable with an estimate of final length and the number of illustrations, if any.

It’s best not to send the complete manuscript when first contacting us.

We will respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible. If your project seems appropriate for our list, we will invite submission of the complete manuscript.
