Pitt poet Toi Derricotte (The Undertaker’s Daughter) will be discussed by members of the Pitt Poetry Exchange on September 23 at the Coffee Tree Roasters in Shadyside. It’s free and open to the public; call 412-621-6880 for more info. Local poet Michael Wurster will lead the discussion.
The University Store on Fifth at Pitt will host the Pittsburgh launch of poet Lynn Emanuel’s The Nerve of It: Poems New and Selected on September 30th.
Inaugural poet Richard Blanco, who recently read his commissioned poem, Matters of the Sea / Cosas del mar, during the reopening ceremony of the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba, will be reading on October 2nd at Carlow University. Leslie Pietrzyk, author of This Angel on My Chest, the 2015 prize-winning book, will read on Thursday, October 8th at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Free and open to the Public. A book signing will follow.
