Pitt Poetry Series Announces Spring 2027 Titles
The Pitt Poetry Series at the University of Pittsburgh Press continues its tradition of publishing the finest contemporary poetry by announcing the forthcoming publication of the following collections in the Spring 2027:
- Nothing to Write Home About by Oksana Maksymchuk
An exploration of war and eros; numbness and sensuality; home and the various forms it takes when the material home is abandoned, compromised, or destroyed. (On Sale 2/23/27)
- The Ninth Island by Andrew Chi Keong Yim
Wandering and referential poems rooted in inheritance and place, which trace the familial and political arc of displacement and return with humor, tenderness, and rage. (On sale 2/9/27)
- Steelhead by Colby Cotton
A haunting debut chronicles the suicide of a childhood friend and the aftermath it leaves on not only the speaker, but the community, itself. This audacious collection seeks to resurrect the past, find the home we can never return to, and reconcile a future that may not exist. (On Sale 2/16/27)
- Book of Miracles by Kelle Groom
“Sometimes it’s hard to know a miracle / is a miracle.” Kelle Groom’s fifth poetry collection seeks the miraculous in the everyday. (On Sale 3/2/27)
- Voyage to the Center by Gemma Gorga, translated by Sharon Dolin
Voyage to the Center takes the reader on a journey into the space between speech and silence, with minimalist poems that shimmer with presence. (On Sale 3/23/27)
About the Pitt Poetry Series
Since its inception in 1967, the Pitt Poetry Series has been a vehicle for the finest contemporary poets. Throughout its history, the series has provided a voice for the diversity that is American poetry, representing poets from many backgrounds without allegiance to any one school or style.
Series editor Nancy Krygowski’s book Velocity won the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize in 2006, and her most recent poetry collection is The Woman in the Corner. She teaches poetry in Carlow University’s Madwomen in the Attic program.
Series editor Jeffrey McDaniel is the author of six books of poetry, most recently Holiday in the Islands of Grief. Other books include Chapel of Inadvertent Joy, The Endarkenment, The Splinter Factory, The Forgiveness Parade, and Alibi School. He teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and lives in the Hudson Valley.
